 As
recently as the early 1980’s, the vast
majority of energy (specifically
electricity) participants were large
investor owned utilities, largely backed
with physical generation assets
(Southern Company, Ameren, SCEG).
Currently,
the 21st Century energy framework is
comprised of both asset rich utilities
and global trading/marketing entities (AEP,
Dominion, Constellation).
Future
Outlook: Due to recent financial
difficulties/credit concerns among a
number of top global trading entities,
emphasis will be placed on organizations
with strong sustainable cash-flows and
lower debt levels. RELIABILITY OF SUPPLY
